I have always ordered the Asurion Insurance when it is available – this accompanied a 4-slice Cuisinart toaster gift to my son and family – the children are having so much fun making their own breakfast before school! And with the insurance, we know they will continue to have fun for years!

Add-on to above review: I have yet to receive the “protection plan service agreement via separate email from Amazon”! Not so happy with this purchase after all! I placed order December 4, 2020, and it is now January 18, 2021 – well after the Christmas gift was given – what gives???

I paid $84.99 (plus $24.99 for shipping and handling) for a portable ice maker and $14.99 for a 4 year extended plan. Of course, it is 3 months past the 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and the ice maker is broken. I learned that under the so-called warranty, I am only receiving a credit on my Amazon card for $84.99. Well the cost of the identical ice maker will cost me $129.99 for the ice maker plus the costs of shipping and handling which will be about $24.99 and the additional cost of a warranty ($14.99) for a total cost of $169.97. Which means after being reimbursed for the cost of the old ice maker, I have to pay approximately $84.98 out-of-pocket for a new ice maker with my warranty plan. What is the purpose of a warranty when you don’t replace an item at the same costs of what it will cost you to replace it? It will cost me money after a warranty? That is not how warranties work!

What size are the burners?
Answer: Each one is almost 7.5 inches in diameter. You are not suppose to use a pot or pan that is larger then the burner, however I do and have not had a problem.

Why doesnt it boil water?
Answer:

It boils water fine. All you have to do is turn the knob up all the way and wait. It will turn itself off when it reaches a certain temp, but the light will come on again. Remember it’s a hotplate not a stove and have some patience. I find that it works perfect, I boil water all the time. Even when using both burners a??

When would this chemical smell go alway? Is it toxic?
Answer: The chemical smell is very brief but still do it in a well ventilated area

How well can it handle hookah coals and how’s the quality on this thing?
Answer: I don’t know about hookah coals. The quality is good. This heats up very hot and fast.

Can it be used in a car outlet?
Answer: I did try it with inverter in car outlet it kept blowing out fuse as soon as I turned it on.
