I’ve only had this unit for a month so I can’t write about energy efficiency. I am very pleased with the little noise this makes. The unit is placed in a window near the tv and my wife would turn up the tv volume to high when my old conventional AC unit was running. It drove me nuts. Now even with the fan speed at high it is still relatively quiet.
The remote is quirky. works sometimes and it seems if it is used the remote defaults to 69 degrees, too cold. I bought the extended warranty but I hope I don’t have to use it.
The hardware for the mounting of this large unit is too little by my assessment. I bought a $100 TOP SHELF TSB-2438 Air Conditioner Bracket but it relies on the ac unit to have a flat bottom which this unit does not have. It has a formed bottom for managing the condensate inside the unit. so the ac unit sits kinda tilted left<>right because the left leg of the bracket falls into a depression of the bottom pan of the ac unit.
LG should make or spec out a suitable accessory support frame for those like me who wanted something more substantial than what’s provided

Well, our product arrived 4 months late and damaged. We were desperate for a quality A/C unit as we just had our first baby and she was only 4-8 weeks old. Our apartment was ROASTING. We thought we made a good choice after what seemed to be countless hours of research and price comparisons. We had to speak with a manager in New York over the phone in order to get a refund of $100 after complaining through Amazon and directly contacting the company. For some reason they canceled our additional insurance we had purchased once they refunded us our $100…. I was tinkering around with different temperatures and speed this evening when I noticed it didn’t seem to change. I tried reseting it, using the remote, using the wifi it was connected to and directly on the unit. The temperature didn’t change at 60 degrees nor while at 86 degrees. I tried the 3 different fan speeds and that didn’t change either. And then I though, well maybe I’ll try the other settings? So, I cycled through each setting and nothing changed. So, now we are $600 in the hole with a unit without the additional insurance that only blows on a low setting and is somewhat cold.

Customer Questions & Answers
Can Amazon install this ac?
Answer: I don’t think Amazon has an installation crew. But a few words of caution, make sure your window opening is large enough(this is a pretty big unit) and if you do try it yourself you’ll need 2 people to lift it into the frame once Installed.
Purchased in april and already not working what are my options?
Answer: Sorry to learn of this. My purchase works wonderfully. You may want to contact LG directly
I don’t see the seer rating posted anywhere?
Answer: I believe 14.5 for the 22000 btu got from a comment from seller. I haven??t had mine long though I can say my first electric. bill using this ac saved me about 65$ From a central air I was using last year.
I would buy it again. I looked and looked for one and decided on this one. Filter easy to take out.
Hope this helps
Do they make a through the wall box this will fit in?
Answer: I’m not sure..we used our wall box that was already in the wall
Should the small round black rubber plug (toward the back right if you’re facing the AC) at the bottom of the base pan be removed during installation?
I think that is an optional opening for a tube to direct the flow of condensate (water) away to a drain. But read up on the “Slinger Fan” in the unit. It uses the water condensate of the air conditioner to cool the heat transfer coil by designing the fan to hit a pool of water condensate thereby splashing water up an??
