Top Positive Review

This is not so much a five-star review as it is a warning to not burn your entire condo building down. I had to buy a single-burner for temporary use because apparently we’re still in the peak of the Great Kitchen Appliance Shortage of 2020, thanks COVID-19. The fancy new stove we ordered three months ago has STILL not arrived. So, CUSIMAX Electric Hot Plate to the rescue.

I admit I didn’t do much research and just ordered something that 1. didn’t look ugly and 2. could ship fast. I also admit I’m a creative director by trade and numbers are not my thing, so when a product description says “1500W” bla blablah by brain hears the teacher from Peanuts talking. Well. After charring a few gazillion gallons of almond milk and various other foods and beverages, ONLY ON A LOW LEVEL 2 setting, I felt called to civic duty to return here to Amazon and warn the general consumer public that, you may actually burn a neighborhood down if you dare venture into the MAX level setting and then for some reason you walk away and forget this burner is on. Which, if you’re like me, is very likely with pandemic and WFH fatigue and seasonal affective disorder brain. I’ve been cooking on gas stoves for a few years and the switch back to an electric was an adjustment. But, I think this specific model has some nuclearfusionNASA powers that could heat the surface of this thing to match the temperature of the planet Mercury. Also, to clarify, I’m not a cook, and like any good inner-urban dweller I make no breakfast and only drink coffee for at least the first half of the day. This thing can get my almond milk so hot, it’s like, still hot a half day later. I’m just, so impressed.

In summary: doesn’t look ugly, shipped fast, five stars, please don’t catch your neighborhood on fire.

Be sure that you check to see if you were sent a damaged product that was already returned. Upon opening the box, I sliced my hand open on a jagged piece of metal sticking out of the back. Quality control is either non-existent, or they do not care that they are selling obviously damaged and dangerous products! I returned immediately after taping over the damaged area to save the next person from getting hurt!

Can you use enameled cast iron cookware on this cooktop
Answer: Yes, the only difference between this & other electric cooktops is that the elements are solid cast iron. I love mine no drip trays needed with one solid piece. Easy clean up, too.

Can you use cast iron cook wear on it?
Answer: I wouldn??t, it may be to heavy

is it 1800W for each burner seperately? or 900W for the one?
Answer: This is a single burner but if it were a two burner, the 1800W would be for both together. The burners may split evenly but usually one is a larger watt burner and the other a smaller watt. Usually if they split evenly then both burners will be the same size.
