I have always ordered the Asurion Insurance when it is available – this accompanied a 4-slice Cuisinart toaster gift to my son and family – the children are having so much fun making their own breakfast before school! And with the insurance, we know they will continue to have fun for years!

Add-on to above review: I have yet to receive the “protection plan service agreement via separate email from Amazon”! Not so happy with this purchase after all! I placed order December 4, 2020, and it is now January 18, 2021 – well after the Christmas gift was given – what gives???

I paid $84.99 (plus $24.99 for shipping and handling) for a portable ice maker and $14.99 for a 4 year extended plan. Of course, it is 3 months past the 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and the ice maker is broken. I learned that under the so-called warranty, I am only receiving a credit on my Amazon card for $84.99. Well the cost of the identical ice maker will cost me $129.99 for the ice maker plus the costs of shipping and handling which will be about $24.99 and the additional cost of a warranty ($14.99) for a total cost of $169.97. Which means after being reimbursed for the cost of the old ice maker, I have to pay approximately $84.98 out-of-pocket for a new ice maker with my warranty plan. What is the purpose of a warranty when you don’t replace an item at the same costs of what it will cost you to replace it? It will cost me money after a warranty? That is not how warranties work!

How long does it take for a single burner to cool down after use?
Answer: It takes several minutes if you have it turned up high since the whole plate becomes very hot. If you have it turned to a medium value – not near as long.

Can you use enameled cast iron cookware on this cooktop
Answer: Yes, the only difference between this & other electric cooktops is that the elements are solid cast iron. I love mine no drip trays needed with one solid piece. Easy clean up, too.

Can I use it outdoors? I hate grilled steaks and thick smoke. The whole house has a bad smell.
Answer: Just plug it in and it’s ready to be used outdoors. I just made a dinner in the garden last week and it worked just fine.

Can you use cast iron cook wear on it?
Answer: I wouldn??t, it may be to heavy

Can you use this with a 4 quart dutch oven?
Answer: i suppose it matters how large the bottom is! Hot plate surface is 7 3/4 wide! Guess you could hangover! Works great though for what I use it for in my motorhome!
