I bought this plan for my dehumidifier. The unit came and within 2 days of operation I realized the continous pump operation doesnt work. I kept getting an error code. Trying to file a claim through abortion and the redirected me back to Amazon who then told me to contact the manufacturer. This plan was supposed to run in conjunction with the manufacturers warranty but apparently not.

Can the window mount be easily removed when you want to open the window?
Answer: Yes. In my case, I didn’t secure it in any way other than closing the window on it, so if I want to open the window, I just open the window. The exhaust part is only about eight inches wide.

I noticed there is an important note at the end: “10,000 btu cool but according to the ashrae 128 this ac is an 6,000 btu cool” – is this correct?

The ASHRAE btu’s rating (6000 btu’s) is subtracted from the total btu’s rating (10,000 btu’s). This true rating is the best as to change the hot gas freon to liquid a portion (40% or 125 cfm or 4k btu’s) of the interior air is used to cool the condenser. The compresser and condenser are mounted in the portable cabinet??

does the unit have to be vented while heating?
Answer: Yes, it does have to be vented. Very disappointing as the instructions actually say the opposite that it does not have to be vented. Part of the reason I bought it was to keep my basement warm in the winter. I have no windows in my basement so I have no way to vent the cold air coming out.
